New Delhi [India], July 15: BlueRose is proud to present Keibukeioiba – When the Forest Wakes, an imaginative mythological science fiction novel by Dr. Rajkumar Kishor. Blending the rich cultural heritage of Manipur with futuristic science, the novel offers readers an extraordinary tale of redemption, technology, and heroism. By transforming one of Manipuri folklore’s most feared mythical figures into an unlikely guardian, Dr. Kishor creates a story that bridges ancient traditions with the possibilities of tomorrow.

For Dr. Rajkumar Kishor, storytelling has always been a quiet passion waiting for the right moment to flourish. Although his professional life has been devoted to biotechnology, scientific research, and entrepreneurship, the desire to write novels remained with him since his college days. The demands of an accomplished scientific career left little time to pursue creative writing, but advances in technology eventually made the writing process more accessible, allowing him to bring his long-held ideas to life.

Hailing from Imphal, Manipur, Dr. Kishor has built an impressive career in Life Sciences. He earned his MSc and PhD degrees from Manipur University and went on to receive the prestigious Post-Doctoral Fellowship from the Department of Biotechnology as well as the Senior Research Associateship from the CSIR. He also served as Scientist-D at the Centre for Orchid Gene Conservation of the Eastern Himalayan Region (SERB, DST), contributing to scientific research and conservation. Beyond the laboratory, he is also a nationally award-winning photographer whose artistic vision complements his scientific curiosity.

His literary journey began with the publication of Rodentia – Rise of the Rodents, introducing readers to his distinctive blend of science fiction and imaginative storytelling. With Keibukeioiba – When the Forest Wakes, his second novel, he takes his creative vision a step further by drawing inspiration from the rich folklore of his homeland.

Rather than portraying Keibukeioiba as the fearsome villain traditionally found in Manipuri legends, Dr. Kishor chooses to explore the character’s hidden humanity. He imagines a being capable of love, compassion, and sacrifice, challenging the conventional divide between heroes and villains. This fresh interpretation reflects his belief that every villain has a good side waiting to be understood.

The novel transports readers from the mysterious forests of ancient Manipur to the technologically advanced twenty-second century. Revived by quantum biophysicist Dr. Chingsanglakpa, Keibukeioiba awakens in a world transformed by artificial intelligence, neural superhumans, secret global syndicates, and humanity’s ambitions beyond Earth. As ancient mythology collides with cutting-edge science, the legendary half-man, half-tiger must redefine his purpose in a future where he may become humanity’s final guardian instead of its greatest threat.

What makes Keibukeioiba – When the Forest Wakes particularly compelling is its seamless fusion of indigenous mythology and speculative science fiction. The novel explores themes of redemption, identity, family, courage, and the complexity of human nature while celebrating the cultural richness of Manipur. By placing an ancient legend within a futuristic setting, Dr. Kishor demonstrates that timeless stories can continue to evolve and inspire new generations.

Alongside his literary pursuits, Dr. Kishor continues to work as an orchid breeder and agri-biotech entrepreneur. His scientific background provides authenticity to the futuristic concepts explored in his fiction, while his deep appreciation for Manipuri culture gives his stories emotional depth and originality.

Looking ahead, Dr. Kishor intends to continue writing in the mythological science fiction genre, creating more stories where ancient legends meet futuristic imagination. He also dreams of seeing his novels adapted for the silver screen, bringing the unique stories of Manipur to audiences around the world.

Reflecting on his own creative journey, Dr. Kishor offers simple yet meaningful advice to aspiring writers: “Spell the magic if you have the inspiration.” His journey demonstrates that with persistence, imagination, and the courage to pursue one’s passion, even long-held dreams can become reality.

With Keibukeioiba – When the Forest Wakes, Dr. Rajkumar Kishor delivers a captivating novel that celebrates both cultural heritage and scientific imagination. It is a story that reminds readers that legends never truly disappear—they simply awaken in new forms for a new age.
