Mumbai, October 20: India’s largest telecommunications firm, Jio Platforms Limited, is all set to launch its initial public offering (IPO) on October 21, 2026. According to the Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DHRP) filed with SEBI, the Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) subsidiary will issue 27 crore equity shares for the public issue. These are valued at ₹30,187 crore (about $3.6 billion), making it the largest public issue in the history of the Indian stock market. The IPO will run for three days and close on October 23, 2026.

Retail investors can bid for a minimum lot size of 12 shares with an initial investment of ₹13,428 and multiples of that thereafter. This is a fresh issue where Jio is expected to use the proceeds to settle its debt. Post IPO, the company is expected to be worth about ₹10.3 lakh crore ($108 billion).

In the pre-IPO round, Jio Platforms raised ₹8,110 crore by allocating 7.25 crore equity shares at ₹1,119 each to 212 institutional investors. Key participants included  Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), Fidelity, BlackRock and New World Fund, according to media reports.

Close to 90% of the proceeds will be used to repay debt, amounting to ₹27,500 crore, while the rest has been allocated towards general corporate purposes.

The shares will be allotted on October 26 and will be listed on the NSE and BSE on October 28.
