Bengaluru, October 26: Two-wheeler EV manufacturer Ather Energy reported a consolidated profit of ₹1.26 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2026 (Q2 FY27), driven by sustained demand. As a result, the company’s total income rose 62% year on year from the same period last year.
With the demand for its scooters surging, the company’s board has approved a ₹122 crore plan to ramp up production at its existing Hosur facility along with its upcoming Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra facility to reach 11.4 lakh units of production by Q2 FY28.
The Bengaluru-based company’s Adjusted Gross Margins (AGMs) have improved 160 basis points (bps) to reach 24% YoY, despite increased input costs for aluminium, copper, lithium and plastics rising throughout the quarter.
Ather’s newly launched Konarc scooter, built on its new EL platform, remains one of its biggest bets for the future, as the company moves towards the budget scooter segment while offering new-age features along with consistent quality.
“We delivered a strong quarter, with robust topline growth and a positive bottomline, despite surging commodity prices and supply chain disruptions. Underpinning this is a shift to electric two-wheelers that is now structural and playing out across India. At Ather, demand has more than doubled year-on-year this quarter, and to meet it, we are further augmenting our production capacity at Hosur and AURIC. With Konarc taking Ather to a wider set of customers, we see significant headroom for growth ahead.” Tarun Mehta, Co-founder & CEO, Ather Energy, said in a press release.
