New Delhi, October 17: Synthetic textile manufacturer Indo Rama Synthetics (India) Limited will be spending ₹200 crore to expand its manufacturing capacity for specialty filaments and specialty fibres, in line with demand trends. This expansion will be done at the company’s existing facility in Butlibori, Nagpur, with commercial operations expected to launch within the next 12 to 18 months.
The company’s Board of Directors have approved the expansion proposal on October 16 with the investment being funded with a combination of term loans and internal cash accruals. The investment will be implemented jointly by Indo Rama Synthetics and its wholly owned subsidiary Indorama Ventures Yarns Private Limited (IVYPL).
This comes at a time when the company has reported strong results for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, with a 201.8% year on year rise in net profit to ₹74.08 crore, supported by a 9.8% rise in revenue from operations to ₹1,340.64 crore.
For Indo Rama, this move marks a deliberate shift away from standard commodity grade polyester products towards higher margin, value added textile solutions. Specialty yarns and technical fibers are widely used in sportswear, technical textiles, automobile interiors and home furnishings, commanding better market realizations.
With this expansion, the company aims to insulate its earnings against cyclical swings in raw material costs while addressing growing demand for specialised synthetic textiles both domestically and internationally.
