Mumbai, October 19: Advanced display solutions manufacturer Highness Microelectronics Limited has commissioned a new glass cutting line at its manufacturing plant in Navi Mumbai, as it looks to strengthen its in-house production capabilities. With commercial production beginning on October 19, the line comes with an installed capacity of 300 glass units per day, allowing it to produce custom TFT-LCD Open Cell glass to make specialized display applications for information systems and display solutions.
The newly inaugurated line comes with a semi automatic glass resizing and cutting machine equipped with a camera based measurement and positioning technology, allowing Highness Microelectronics to use this in-house as India’s only company possessing such glass cutting and manufacturing technology. This will be crucial in resizing and cutting glass and LCD solutions for the company’s in-house requirements.
“The commissioning of our glass cutting line is an important step in strengthening our in-house manufacturing capabilities for specialised display applications. The line is expected to cater to existing business opportunities and growing customer demand. We are also exploring potential opportunities through metro projects and overseas orders, which are currently under discussion. The facility is expected to improve operational efficiency, reduce production turnaround time, enhance cutting accuracy and product quality, and reduce dependence on external processing. These improvements are expected to support better cost control and delivery flexibility, with potential benefits for revenue and profit margins as production scales up.” Gaurav Kejriwal, Managing Director of Highness Microelectronics Limited, said in a press release.
