Kolkata, October 31: Eveready Industries India Limited has announced a strong surge in its half yearly net profits as it grows 209% since the same period last year, driven by sustained consumer demand and an expanded distribution footprint. For the quarter ended September 30, 2026, the dry cell battery and lighting manufacturer saw a net profit of ₹31.9 crores, while consolidated revenues from operations stood at ₹428.2 crore, for Q2 FY27, growing 10.7% year on year (YoY).
The quarter marked the eighth consecutive quarter of topline revenue growth, as robust sales across its core battery and flashlight categories held up despite rising input costs for zinc and dampened demand due to seasonal challenges.
Its premium alkaline battery segment registered a 36.5% increase in revenue with volumes growing 30%, strengthened by the commencement of production at its Jammy facility in May 2026. Beyond that, the Kolkata-based company has launched new products- a torch for farmers to ward off stray animals from farms, an extra bright LED for emergencies besides expanding its existing portfolio.
“Our eighth consecutive quarter of revenue growth reflects the strength of the business and gives us confidence in sustaining this progress. Alkaline batteries and rechargeable products remain important growth drivers, while portable Liquid vaporizers expand our mosquito protection portfolio, supported by the launch of the “Unplug and use anywhere campaign”. Our focus remains on strengthening the product portfolio, expanding market presence and driving sustainable growth.” Anirban Banerjee, Chief Executive Officer, Eveready Industries, said in a press release.
“We remain focused on profitable growth, disciplined working capital management and strengthening the balance sheet. We are taking calibrated pricing action to protect profitability and maintain margin stability, while commodity and forex hedging helped us manage the impact of higher input costs. As the Jammu facility ramps up, our priority will be to improve capacity utilisation and realise the cost benefits of local manufacturing.” Bibek Agarwala, Executive Director & Chief Financial Officer added.
