October 09: One of our country’s most renowned medical doctors, we are talking about none other than Dr. GVP Rao.

He is a cardiology specialist at Hridhayam heart clinic- Nashik & NMH Heart Center and is fully engaged as a senior consultant cardiologist in India. Coupled with being one of the best cardiologists in the nation, Dr. Rao has another attribute for which people not only admire but also love him, “his compassion for people, their pains, and their financial difficulties.” The 2021 Best Humanitarian Awards are for sure a testament to this.

“Though I have worked with top hospitals in India and abroad, I always want to help and serve the people who are poor and don’t get medical facilities due to location or financial problems. Therefore with my team, I always conduct free health check-up camps and spread awareness by organizing seminars and lectures,” says Dr. GVP Rao. In rural India, he has developed a free blood pressure clinic to help people avoid heart attacks.

In order to provide health screenings and treatments to the less fortunate, Dr. Rao has travelled the length and breadth of the country, attempting to reach the most remote parts of our Nation. How beautiful is that? Isn’t it?

He has treated thousands of patients and did over ten thousand angiograms and angioplasties throughout his nearly two decades of practice.

Well, Dr Rao is undoubtedly a very well surgeon in his field, having recently won the National Excellence Award 2021 for ‘Best Cardiologist India for Outstanding Contribution to Heart Failure and Rehabilitation.’ & was also honoured by Sri Balbir Singh Sidhu, Punjab’s Health Minister, with the coveted “Pillars of Medical Sciences 2021- Cardiology as an Interventional, Heart Failure, and Rehabilitation specialist,” amid a whole slew of other honours he’s received.
