Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], September 28: At Neerja Modi School, a walk across campus has become an encounter with art.

The school has recently transformed its campus into an open-air gallery, bringing student artwork out of classrooms and into the everyday spaces where students learn, interact and spend their school day.

Colourful artworks now line the campus walkways, creating an evolving visual landscape that turns an ordinary journey between classrooms into an experience of creativity and discovery. Rather than being confined to a conventional exhibition space, the artwork becomes part of the architecture and atmosphere of the school itself.

The campus-wide art initiative is built around the idea that creativity should be visible, accessible and woven into everyday school life. Students are able to see their own work displayed alongside that of their peers, creating a shared artistic environment that reflects the diversity of ideas and expressions within the school community.

The installation also gives students an opportunity to encounter art outside the traditional art classroom. As they move through the campus, they see different styles, interpretations, and perspectives created by fellow students, turning the school grounds into a space for observation and conversation.

    Neerja Modi

For Neerja Modi School, the initiative represents a broader approach to creative education—one where art is not simply an activity completed and displayed, but something that actively shapes the environment in which students learn.

The result is a campus that feels less like a collection of classrooms and more like a living gallery of student creativity.

In transforming its everyday spaces, NMS has created an environment where students don’t have to make a special trip to experience art.
