Ahmedabad, August 19: At a time when Indian entrepreneurs are expanding their businesses across borders and affluent families are taking a more global approach to wealth planning, Dhananjaysinh Chudasama has built a business around helping them navigate one of the world’s most specialised advisory sectors: investment immigration.

As Founder and CEO of MyRCBI.com and Founder of EB5 Consultancy, Chudasama has advised more than 250 Indian families on residency and citizenship by investment programmes. His work spans several international jurisdictions, with the US EB-5 Immigrant Investor Programme accounting for a significant share of his advisory practice, alongside selected residency and citizenship programmes in Europe, the Middle East and the Caribbean.

Over the past decade, he has seen both the industry and the profile of Indian investors change considerably.

“When we started, many enquiries were linked to education or business expansion overseas. Today, investment immigration is increasingly being viewed as a long-term strategic decision that provides greater freedom of movement, access to international opportunities for the next generation and a practical Plan B should circumstances change unexpectedly,” says Chudasama.

Unlike conventional immigration, investment migration requires families to evaluate investment opportunities alongside immigration rules, legal documentation, financial regulations and government policies. Decisions often involve multiple jurisdictions and affect not only the principal investor but the entire family. According to Chudasama, helping clients understand these complexities and make informed decisions has become central to his advisory approach.

Dhananjaysinh Chudasama believes investment immigration is becoming an important part of long-term wealth planning for Indian families.

His clients include entrepreneurs, promoters of family-owned businesses, senior corporate executives, professionals working overseas and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. Investment migration decisions often involve chartered accountants, wealth managers, lawyers and family offices, making credibility and specialist knowledge essential in this business.

Chudasama says client priorities have shifted noticeably over the years. Earlier, conversations often centred on obtaining residency in another country. Today, discussions are more likely to focus on broader issues such as wealth planning, succession, business continuity, international mobility and creating greater flexibility for families in an increasingly uncertain global environment.

The broader market reflects this shift. Industry estimates suggest that the global investment migration sector is worth several billion dollars and continues to grow steadily. India has emerged as one of the world’s leading source markets for investment migration, driven by a growing population of entrepreneurs and high-net-worth families with international business interests.

According to Chudasama, several factors have accelerated demand in recent years, including geopolitical uncertainty, changing immigration policies, evolving tax regimes and lessons learnt during the COVID-19 pandemic. Increasingly, affluent families are evaluating international residency alongside wealth preservation, succession planning and business continuity rather than as a standalone immigration decision.

While Mumbai and Delhi remain major centres for investment immigration, Chudasama believes Gujarat has rapidly emerged as one of India’s most dynamic markets. The state’s entrepreneurial culture, global business links and increasing international exposure have contributed to growing awareness of structured residency and citizenship programmes.

Looking ahead, Chudasama expects technology to transform how advisory services are delivered. Through MyRCBI.com, he is developing a digital platform aimed at making investment immigration advice more structured, transparent and accessible, while continuing to provide expert guidance for complex cross-border decisions.

“As Indian businesses become increasingly global, investment immigration is evolving from a niche offering into an important part of long-term wealth planning. We expect demand from Indian ultra-high-net-worth families to continue growing as they seek greater mobility, security and opportunities for the future,” he says.

For Chudasama, the growing interest in investment migration reflects a broader shift in the way India’s affluent families think about the future. As businesses become increasingly global and families seek greater international flexibility, he believes informed, specialist advice will become more important than ever.
