Gurugram (Haryana) [India], October 20: Every entrepreneurial journey has a starting point, but not every journey follows a straight line. For Ajeet Singh, the path from a small village in Alwar, Rajasthan, to building a premium fitness and wellness business in Gurugram has been defined by professional reinvention, calculated risks and an evolving understanding of what consumers expect from modern businesses.

Born in 1992, Singh grew up studying in government schools before pursuing a degree in Computer Science engineering. In 2012, he began his career as a software developer with a monthly salary of ₹5,500. It was his first step into the professional world, but not the final destination.

His interest in building something of his own soon took him beyond conventional employment. He started a small IT company and later explored hospitality through Plattos Air Bar in Vasant Kunj, Delhi. Each experience exposed him to a different side of entrepreneurship, helping him understand the importance of execution, customer expectations and the ability to adapt.

In 2022, Singh channelled his entrepreneurial experience into a new venture: 7 Ocean: The Fitness Club. Starting with a facility on MG Road, he set out to create a fitness destination that could offer more than the conventional gym experience.

The idea was grounded in an observation about consumer behaviour. Fitness memberships may begin with ambitious expectations, but the environment, service and overall experience ultimately influence whether people remain engaged with their routines. Singh saw an opportunity to build a brand where the experience itself could become a reason for members to return.

That philosophy has shaped 7 Ocean’s development as a premium fitness and wellness destination. In 2026, the brand expanded into Sector 61, Gurugram, marking a new phase in its growth and its ambition to establish a wider presence across Delhi-NCR.pasted or uploaded image

For Singh, the long-term opportunity lies in the convergence of fitness, wellness and longevity. He sees potential in a model that makes wellbeing a more engaging part of everyday life, supported by an environment where members feel comfortable, motivated and connected.

The journey so far has also been one of learning across industries. His background in technology and hospitality, along with his wider business interests, has given him exposure to different approaches to problem-solving and customer experience.

Yet the larger ambition goes beyond individual facilities. Singh aims to develop 7 Ocean into a more comprehensive wellness ecosystem, responding to consumers who increasingly view fitness as part of a broader lifestyle rather than an occasional activity.

His story is a reminder that entrepreneurial growth is not always determined by where someone begins. It can also be shaped by the ability to recognise opportunities, move beyond familiar territory and turn experience into a new direction.

For Ajeet Singh, the next chapter is about building on that foundation—and continuing to develop a business around the idea that better wellbeing should be accessible through a more considered everyday experience.
