New Delhi [India], September 3: India’s shift towards renewable energy has created opportunities for businesses, professionals and young entrepreneurs across the country. One professional who has been closely associated with this changing landscape is P. Venkat Reddy, AMIE, MDCA, an Indian solar expert with more than 14 years of experience in renewable energy and infrastructure.

    P. Venkat Reddy has worked across several areas of the solar industry, including project design, EPC execution, project financing, infrastructure development and business consulting. Over the years, his work has also expanded into skill development, industry representation and international renewable energy projects.

He currently serves as National President of TSSIA – The Solar System Integrators Association, where he works with industry stakeholders on policy advocacy, collaboration and capacity building. His role also involves representing the solar MSME sector at government and industry forums.

His professional interactions have included institutions and agencies such as MNRE, BIS, SECI, DISCOMs and State Nodal Agencies, giving him an understanding of both the business and policy sides of the renewable energy sector.

Alongside his industry responsibilities, P. Venkat Reddy has placed considerable focus on developing skilled professionals. He has mentored more than 5,000 students and entrepreneurs in the solar sector and has worked with engineers, ITI students and Polytechnic students.

According to him, India’s renewable energy growth needs people with practical knowledge as much as it needs investment and technology. His efforts in solar skill development have therefore focused on helping young people understand the career and business opportunities available in the industry.

His corporate experience includes serving as Managing Director of Red Rays Renewable Energy, where he is involved in solar EPC and development projects covering rooftop, ground-mounted, industrial and commercial applications.

He is also the Executive Director of Priven Solar & Infra Pvt Ltd, working on projects ranging from feasibility studies and financing to engineering, execution and long-term operations and maintenance.

As Co-Founder of SHS Energies & Infra Projects, P. Venkat Reddy has been associated with more than 1,000 projects across residential, commercial, industrial and government sectors.

His work is not limited to India. He serves as Chief Consultant at Avitech P/L in Zimbabwe and has also taken up advisory roles connected with clean energy initiatives in New Zealand and Bangladesh.

    P. Venkat Reddy has also been invited to speak at Oxford University on renewable energy leadership, adding to his experience on international platforms.

Beyond business, he remains involved in social initiatives through the Lions Club of Vanasthalipuram, District 320-H, where he serves as Secretary. His work includes education, skill development, health and eye camps, rural solar awareness and other community initiatives.

For P. Venkat Reddy, renewable energy is not simply about installing solar systems. He sees it as an opportunity to create jobs, develop entrepreneurs and contribute to India’s larger goal of becoming self-reliant in clean energy.

His vision is to build stronger connections between industry, government, academia and society while encouraging the next generation to participate in India’s growing green economy.
