Ahmedabad, November 5: Plumbing and building materials major Astral Limited has reported a 26% year-on-year increase in its consolidated revenue for the quarter ended September 30, the company said in a regulatory filing. This revenue growth came even as the company struggled to maintain margins due to elevated polymer and other raw material costs, eventually passing them on to the clients.
Along with that, the company reported a 5.6% decline in Profit After Tax (PAT) at ₹ 12.73 crore excluding other income. The company’s EBITDA has also declined to 13.7% for Q2 FY27, from 17% during the same period last year.
Astral’s flagship plumbing business has been the standout performer here, with sales rising 19.1% year on year (YoY) to 72,934 MT from 61,224 MT recorded a year ago. Revenue from the sector has also increased 25% to ₹139.83 crore.
The company also facd weak demand for its piping business, mostly due to light inventory caused by raw material disruptions and heightened polymer prices. Despite that, Astral has increased its pipes and fittings production capacity to 4,25,195 MT with its CPVC Resin plant aiming to commence production by Q4 FY27, boosting its backward integration.
Beyond plumbing, the company’s Bathware business has also grown by 26.8% in sales, while its aluminum PEX product is expected to be launched by Q3 FY27.
Astral Limited has managed to sustain its profitability, though it has faced challenges with raw material cost escalations. The company has announced a ₹1.50 interim dividend per share, and is expecting to realise better margins in the coming months.
