New Delhi [India], August 24: The Chairman and CEO of the Railway Board today visited the IRCTC War Room at the World Trade Centre in New Delhi and undertook a detailed review of its monitoring, surveillance and operational activities.

During the visit, the Chairman spent nearly two hours reviewing the functioning of the War Room and interacting with IRCTC CMD (L/A) Rahul Himalian and senior Directors and officials. The detailed discussions focused on passenger services, real-time monitoring, grievance redressal mechanisms, catering quality, and the measures being undertaken by IRCTC to continuously improve the passenger experience.

    Railway Board

The Chairman appreciated the efforts being made by IRCTC towards strengthening service delivery and improving the overall quality of passenger amenities. The War Room’s role in keeping a close watch on services and enabling prompt intervention was also reviewed in detail.

During the interaction, officials were further advised to adopt a more proactive and rigorous approach towards service monitoring. Frequent inspections, surprise checks, raids and field-level monitoring were emphasised to ensure that shortcomings are identified and corrective action is taken at the earliest.

    Railway Board

Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening food quality, hygiene, preparation standards and basic passenger facilities. Officials were encouraged to maintain continuous oversight of catering services and ensure that prescribed standards are consistently followed across the railway network.

The visit reflects the Railway Board’s continued focus on strengthening monitoring systems and ensuring that improvements in railway services translate into a better experience for passengers.

With technology-enabled monitoring through the IRCTC War Room, combined with frequent field inspections and strict enforcement, the emphasis remains on better services, higher quality standards, and stronger passenger-centric delivery.
